Well, I tried out Suanie’s Batman haiku contest, but wasn’t good enough apparently > hmpf <

Well, I wasn’t surprised really, as it’s kind of obscure I think (my haiku that is).

Anyway, the contest was to do a haiku (poem with three lines – five syllables, seven syllables, five syllables) on anything to do with Batman. So after racking my brains for hours and hours (minus a few hours), and with the fame-multiplier effect of Heath Ledger’s death in mind, I came up with this:

Source

The dark night returns
And brings a joke or, is it?
A metaphor, think.

What do you think?

...

On another note, it seems that the 'Heath Ledger Online Community' haven't given up on him yet! They still have a "Contact Heath" link with some addresses, and say

If you have gotten a reply, or if the address you used does not work (i.e. your package is returned to you as “return to sender”) please let us know (heathledger.net)

Maybe they know something we don't? A sequel perhaps?

I’m still writing up about the All-Blogs 100 Days’ event last Saturday, but here’s something else in the meantime.

I got back from the event about 3am, slightly inebriated and content with an interesting and fun evening. But, right where I usually park, I saw this…

I guess you can call it a ‘present’ from my escapologist dog, Lucky

She does this occasionally, finding some ‘nasi bungkus’ and bringing it home. It doesn’t endear us to our neighbours… though I guess it’s a good thing she brings it back, rather than making a mess elsewhere. So, I have to pick it all up, and in the process get an unappetising peek into my neighbours’ culinary and sanitary practices.

So why do we let her get out, you ask? Well we tried stopping her – take a look at ‘Alcatraz’ (as my wife has taken to calling our house, after we put barbed wire up

We put extra fencing, poles and barbed wire, all to stop her getting out. As you can see – she has broken through the fencing (multiple times), climbed over the top, and apparently on occasion has also climbed back in over the back wall and fence. She is truly the Houdini of the canine world!

(this is an older photo, she broke that collar too – into three pieces somehow, when we had chained her up once)

Sticky webs hanging from buildings cause major cleanup hassles for NY City Department

Ever wondered what happened to the trails of gluey arachnid goo the webbed one leaves in his ‘Friendly Neighbourhood’?

Doris Wydedopolas is an angry lady after finding her laundry covered in sticky spider web – courtesy of the masked crime fighter. “Well he can fly around all he wants, but is he going to pay for the dry-cleaning? I can’t remove this stuff from my Sunday dress!” Brandishing her spoiled polka dot dress, she showed our reporter her back yard where the clothes were hanging – strings of sticky goo had stuck her voluminous drawers together and was collecting flies. “With all the modern technology nowadays, why can’t he just use something that doesn’t stick?” her husband complained.

Aaron Giveadamovitz has also lodged a complaint after he found his cat dangling off the window ledge. “She must have been scared by the spinning Spider antics, and got caught in his web”, he said tearfully, “Sheeba is my life, I don’t know what I’d do without her. He’s a menace to all pet lovers in the city!” The NY Fire Department is also planning to charge the webbed avenger for the cost of retrieving the mewing moggy from the twentieth floor window.

No so ‘Friendly Neighbourhood’ after all!
After knocking on a few doors, our reporter found that it’s not such a ‘Friendly Neighourhood’ after all. A neighbour who declined to give his name, said “We don’t want those foreign people dressed in gay outfits! It threatens family values and takes our jobs. You tell them Joe Rougegorge said that!”. Another neighbour, a young student who was sleeping late, was the only one to voice support for the two-legged arachnoid – “Superheroes are always getting the bad end of the stick,” Peter Parker said, “everyone expects them to be perfect but they’re just ordinary people too you know!”

We tried to reach Spiderman for comment, but he was not available, however the City Department says that they will try to use more unconventional methods to contact him. It’s thought they may have approached Hancock as a consultant, but he's reported to have said that he had a party to go to.
Well, I know I’m too late for the Wild Live Blogging, but I couldn’t come up with any ideas before and I’ve been busy. But last night we had some fun with our dogs

At the AMBP Smashin’ Gathering we were given Shrek headbands (to be worn with caution though – thanks synical). So we thought it would be fun to see our dogs with them on. But it was more difficult than we thought…

First Lucky refused…

Then after some pleading and persuasion…
Recently I chased up some old friends, and yesterday I got a call from an old friend who lives in Paris now. Since he was a teenager he had always been playing music, and now he’s in a band that’s being relatively successful in France – he’s just come back from playing at a festival this weekend, they even got a clip played on MTV France the other day!

Check them out on their MySpace or their official website (there's more music to listen to on their MySpace site) – their music is kind of slightly trippy 80’s style rock, and that throbbing bass is Stéphane

He told me that he was going to take the plunge and quit his job to go full-time on the musique – so I wish him and the band… Bonne Merde!
